Staircase to Visualise HTML5

Without wasting much of time, we can cut the introduction of HTML 5 in short, it is the future of the internet world. Let’s suck it up and get on some facts. If you are not using HTML5 then there could be reasons like, it is not completely adopted by people yet, you love writing the HTML5 codes, your IE doesn’t support HTML5 or it could be any other such probable reason. Whatever the reason is, whether you like this format or not, the truth that you need to gulp is, HTML5 is the latest version of HTML that will soon dominate the whole intenet world.
HTML 5 caters some superior and top-notch multimedia options within a web page like Graphics and Audio processing, that would surely get web developers hands on it, which HTML4 was unable to do, moreover working on such amazing stuff was impossible to imagine with HTML4. Hence, to make you experience the amazing functionality of HTML5, we have three-stage staircase, which on climbing, will lead you to know – how to create Audio visualisation within a HTML5 web page.

First Stage of Staircase: To Create Audio Visualisation

Creativity and uniqueness always attract the eye and sometimes serve as the key to success as well. Keeping that in mind, first thing that we need to carry out is develop an idea. An idea should be developed so creatively and uniquely that it suits best with the audio file. For those who are not aware of the details of HTML5, let us tell you that a new tag has been added to HTML5 with the help of which we can facilely manipulate any audio file incorporated in the webpage.
You must be wondering what does this new tag offer? This tag supplies a media player for audio file that delivers a media player structure with time, volume control and other exciting features. But we are focusing over the visualisation part and these features are not enough to create visualisation. Audio visualisation is not a child’s play, it requires synchronisation with an audio file. This process of audio visualisation involves the extraction of the audio data from the audio file which can be extracted from a file using the pre-processor that can efficiently be used later for the coding purpose.

Second Stage of Staircase: To Build Visual Graphics

This stage demands concentration. Before we start with the infixing of the visualisation with an audio file, we need to sketch out the graphical resources that are essential and would be required for the visualisation. In this stage the designing part comes into play mainly. Those who are planning to create lyrics based visualisation, need to focus on the design of the backdrop (where the lyrics will appear) of the page. To carry out the lyrics visualisation, you will have to create the timeline record of the lyrics. Here, synchronisation should be given a bit of attention, because if the timeline of the lyrics is not perfectly synchronised with the audio stream, it would create an embarrassing visualisation. Hence, synchronisation is not what you can sneeze at, it is the core element to escape the embarrassment.
If carrying out such task is difficult for you, you need not worry! You can go for wave based visualisation that would exhibit wave peaks with high volume; it is simpler and easier to develop as it requires minimal graphic resources. Although we can use sample colors or textures to create waves, but for such visualisations nothing can be done without an audio data. It acts as an essential element to create wave based visualisation.

Third Stage of Staircase: To Build the Code for Visualisation

Of course this kind of visualisation can be carried out with different approaches, but it embeds some basic logic which cannot be let fall between the cracks. No doubt, HTML5 has provided us more than we could have ever imagined from a HTML code. But that does not mean that we can ignore the bitter truth that HTML5 is just a designing language that lacks the logical coding features. Hence, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS is what we require. With the help of simple Java Array, we can effortlessly infix the audio data with lyrics, synch or volume graph.
This is how one can design visualisation by using HTML5 tag without getting into the back-breaking task of creating flash animation or abundant graphical resource.
