Exquisite Typography Designs for your Inspiration

Typography has made its mark on design in a big way. This technique exhibits the beauty and amazing features of every letter when it is mixed with fascinating colors, images, and other design elements. The beauty (and challenge) of compositions centered on type is that they allow the designer or artist to convey a message through his or her lettering skills, as well as through the words or phrases themselves.
For your design pleasure, today I will share with you some fresh examples of exquisite typography designs. These great pieces will show you that there are no boundaries and that you can make almost anything with text if you have a good portion of creativity and talent. Check it out and let us know what you think.

Unflattering Portraits, What to do if Your Art is Stolen, Think Different (Apple Logo Tribute)

In the spirit of the coming Cannes Lions 59th International Festival of Creativity, we'll like to (again) feature some creative fellas and their works. These fellas may not be as global as the people who're leading their respective fields, but their creativity and the effort they put on their work on the internet are worth mentioning. (Oh btw, we'll be featuring the Cannes Lions 59th International Festival of Creativity on this week's You! Be Informed, so watch out for that!)

This week, we're still cooking more stuff about Logo design and other graphic design goodies. Also, there'll be a post featuring Seymour Chwast, the graphic designer renowned for his various commercial works which includes posters, product packaging, and magazine covers. Check out his works, no one knows what you'll pick up from his wide-ranged portfolio.

Unflattering Portraits
Being exposed to large doses of social media has taught me one thing – never trust a profile picture. They're not the truest manifestation of the person. Expect to be surprised when you meet someone you knew from Facebook or Twitter to be a totally different person. But what if people used pictures – or in this instance – caricatures of themselves, portraying them as oily and haggard, with all the lines on their faces gloriously penned for everyone to see? Well, here's The Misanthrope Specialty co.'s Unflattering Portraits, check them out and be the judge on which is better – HQ/manipulated pictures or your true self:

Illustrations by Francis Kmiecik
I've always admired illustrators and their creative works. Stumbling and browsing through cargo collective, I chanced upon some gorgeous illustrations of women. Created by Francis Kmiecik A.K.A Halfanese, these stunning illustrations of the modern woman provide an exclusive and sensual look at today's feminine style and fashion.

Pretty Clever – Ryan Werth
A tumblog curated by Ryan Werth, Pretty Clever is a collection of (mostly typographic) graphic design that dares to provide daily inspiration to its followers. Being a designer himself, Ryan Werth knows what to put into this tumblog. Check out the Pretty Clever on tumblr.

Untitled Themes – Andrew Stichbury
One of the best things about tumblr is that it's a very visual blog. Though, it allows you to post long series of texts, much of the content you'll see on most tumblogs are pictures. But what's more interesting in tumblr is the level of creativity in the themes that are available for use. In some occasions, I even find the theme more interesting than the content of a tumblog. After browsing some time on tumblr's themes, I came across some of Andrew Stichbury's designs – they're eye candies (especially, if you've got the right content for them). Also check out his portfolio, he's done other design projects in other media.

Coffee Made Me Do It – Simon Alander
Coffee Made Me Do It is actually a tumblog. I just found it somewhere on the vastness of the internet, and basically clicked away on the typographic designs on the blog. The blog is maintained by typographer and graphic design Simon Alander. Most of the time he posts his works on his tumblr, and sometimes other projects he's worked on. You can also check his portfolio of the same name.

Habbenink – David Habben
Here's another wonderful illustrator – David Habben. His works are mainly centered on illustration for books (mostly children's books). Although, his illustrations for these books look elegantly, it's his sketchbook series that caught our attention. His eye for detail and taste for color is evident throughout his works and though most of his works are for children, some of his works portray surreal subjects. Check out David Habben's portfolio for more of his works.

Think Different (Apple Tribute) – Viktor Hertz
We've seen several creative tributes to Apple – some of them are just parodies, while some of them actually pay tribute to the creative company. Anyway, here's a fun series of puns (or tributes) on Apple's logos. The logo series was created by Viktor Hertz, a freelance designer, as a tribute to Apple's celebrated identity as a creative and innovative company. Check out more Apple logo tributes on Viktor Hertz’s portfolio.
